This Master Plan project aims to develop a strong neighborhood identity, to improve the neighborhood’s connectivity through meaningful green and public spaces, and to densify with residential uses.
The strong sense of identity for this area comes from its ‘industrial character’ clearly marked by power lines on Santa Monica Boulevard, and from its entertainment industries. A revitalization of all theaters in the Theater Row would be a great opportunity to reinforce this entertainment identity.
The HMD project contemplates creating access to introverted studio buildings, creating pedestrian paths through new meaningful green and public spaces, repurposing parking structures by embracing future mobility technologies, implementing adaptive reuse strategies, and densifying with residential uses.
